Major oversight: Clint Eastwood as Harry Callahan in “Dirty Harry”, “The Enforcer” and “Magnum Force”. As I discussed in the first post, sequels often do not carry on the heart and soul of the original film(s). This was certainly the case with the last two movies, “Sudden Impact” and “The Dead Pool”. Both were awful and immediately forgettable.
Here is another example: “The Whole Nine Yards” (Willis / Perry), a very funny movie with plenty of action and plot twists. The sequel, “The Whole Ten Yards”, was incredibly and inexplicably bad.
Here is my question: How do these producers get funding for these terrible films? Are they great salespeople or are the studios that stupid? Maybe it’s a combination of the two.
